Reflexology Demystified – The Book

Coming Soon

For years, clients have asked me the same questions. What is reflexology actually doing? Is there science behind it? How does working on someone’s feet affect their digestion, their sleep, their anxiety? Why does pressure on one small point produce a sensation somewhere else entirely?

These are good questions. They deserve proper answers — not a dismissal of the science, and not an uncritical acceptance of everything that has ever been claimed for reflexology either. The truth, as I have come to understand it through years of practice and study, is both more nuanced and more interesting than either camp tends to allow.

Reflexology Demystified is my attempt to write the book I wished I’d had when I was training. It is written for curious clients who want to understand what is happening in their sessions, for students approaching the subject for the first time, and for experienced practitioners who want to think more carefully about the foundations of what they do.

The book draws on the history of reflexology from its ancient roots through Eunice Ingham’s work to current research, explores the emerging science of fascia and the nervous system, and offers a clear-eyed assessment of what we know, what we don’t, and why that uncertainty doesn’t diminish the value of the work.

Reflexology Demystified is expected to be available in 2026. If you would like to be notified when it launches, please get in touch via the contact page. From 2027 I will be offering practitioner training, please join the mailing list if you would like to hear more about that…
